Eagle Scout Soars for Hurley

Eric Dahley is a Life Scout with Boy Scout Troop 323 from Freeland. When his cousin, Taylor, was two years old, she was diagnosed with leukemia. Eric is grateful that Hurley Children’s Hospital was able to provide the treatment and care she needed. Today, Taylor is healthy!
For his Eagle Scout project, Eric chose to do something personally meaningful by giving back to Hurley. He spoke with Laura Parcels, Child Life Director, and decided to meet a need for warm, comforting blankets for young patients. Eric took responsibility for creating, organizing and executing all aspects of the project. He and 24 of his friends and family members (including Taylor!) enjoyed a “COVID-safe” blanket-making party which resulted in 36 fleece blankets for the Pediatric Unit.
Thank you, Eric, for making a difference!
