Dean Twins Now
Karson and Cooper Dean were born at 26 weeks at Hurley, both weighing less than 2 pounds! See where they are now – and you will believe in miracles!
Karson was on a ventilator for 4 months, then had a tracheostomy. Nurse Jill, provided her with loving care and helped guide her parents through every situation. At 2 1/2 Karson had throat reconstructive surgery and worked with a speech therapist to learn to use her voice.
In Hurley’s NICU, Cooper was on a ventilator for 3 1/2 months and had ROP eye surgery and PDA heart surgery. Nurses Terry and Amy provided incredible care for Cooper and his family. The Deans still keep in touch with them.
TODAY: As a sophomore, Karson uses her voice boldly as a Varsity Cheerleader and gymnastics coach! This strong, confident, shining light hopes to attend UM Flint after high school to become a pediatric nurse!
TODAY: Cooper just received his academic letter. A contagious personality, Cooper is loved by everyone, including at his job at a golf course. He plans to attend Kettering University after high school with a degree in automotive engineering!
