Saving Lives One Handbag at a Time: ELGA’s “Raise the Purse” Event Returns for Another Year

On November 10th, ELGA Credit Union Foundation for IMPACT hosted their 3rd annual Raise the Purse event, benefiting Hurley Children’s Hospital. Raise the Purse is a live auction of stylish, designer bags. All proceeds from the auction go towards the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

This year, ELGA was able to raise $68,001 to benefit the NICU at Hurley Children’s Hospital!

Because of the amazing efforts of the Raise the Purse committee, sponsors and attendees, the funds raised will help purchase a Philips IntelliVue X3 portable ECG monitor which can save a baby’s life as it monitors vital signs during transport.

Organizers of this event were able to secure a $5,000 gift courtesy of Co-op Financial Services Miracle Match program.

We at Hurley Children’s Hospital are so grateful for the continued support of ELGA Credit Union and the community who supported this glamorous event. While only some may have walked away with a purse, everyone walked away knowing that their efforts contributed to saving a child’s life.
