Miracle Monday – Brooklyn Glass

A little girl born 4 months early! She survived because of advancements at #HurleyChildrensHospital and because of the support of her mom.

Brooklyn Glass was born on January 14, 2006 weighing only one pound, three ounces. She was four months early! Brooklyn had a size one brain bleed that went away within the first couple of days. This tiny fighter had surgery to repair a valve in her heart. She battled infections. It was two long months before her mom, Sarah, could even hold her. It was definitely an emotional rollercoaster but Sarah never lost faith that her precious daughter would make it. And she did! After 116 days, Brooklyn was discharged from Hurley’s Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. But she wasn’t completely complication free.

When Brooklyn was a year old, it was determined that she was legally #blind but that didn’t slow her down one little bit. She learned to adapt and today she loves to draw, go camping, do woodworking, play with her Switch and take care of her puppy, Willow. Brooklyn is looking forward to being a sophomore this fall at Clio High School.

Sarah McDaniel knows how important it is to have the resources of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals available when the need arises. Hurley Children’s Hospital serves 15 counties including Saginaw, Bay City, and Midland. That’s why, as a team leader at the Saginaw #SamsClub, Sarah is proud to help raise awareness and money for Hurley Children’s Hospital now through July 25th during their annual fundraising campaign. Whether you go through the cashier’s line or do self-checkout, YOU can help children like Brooklyn face a brighter future. EVERY dollar makes a difference.
