Daisy Troop Donation

Daisy Troop 50128 is on a mission to prove that Girl Scouts do more than sell cookies. The Frankenmuth girls worked together to make tie blankets and purchase stuffed animals for kids at Hurley Children’s Hospital. They tell us they want to help kids feel good and not to be afraid.

They checked out the CMN Aquarium before sitting down with Miss Laura from Child Life. She shared with them how the Child Life team works every day to make the hospital less scary for kids like them.  The troop then got to experience some of our distraction items like Virtual Reality Goggles and the Vecta Machine. Vecta is an expensive piece of equipment, but so worth it. It helps children on the spectrum calm down, focus and make sense of what’s happening to them as they heal.

The girls learned a lot and their troop leaders say some of them even have new dream jobs now. They sure love Hurley kids! We love them for caring.
