Actress Jennifer Garner’s Good “Medicine” for Hurley Patient

Jennifer Garner, actress, Golden Globe winner, and mother of three brightened the day for seven-year-old Aubrielle recently. This young, cancer warrior from Linden, Michigan enjoyed a 15-minute one-on-one Zoom conversation with Jennifer at Hurley Children’s Hospital thanks to the team at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

These two struck it off immediately! They share a common love for baking. Jennifer prefers baking bread. Aubrielle’s specialty is baking chocolate cake. They talked about their favorite movies, books, and more. Aubrielle’s giggle was contagious!

The time with Jennifer was good “medicine” for this young patient who is now in the maintenance phase of her active, cancer treatment.  She has good days and bad days. Sometimes she’s too sick or her counts are too low so she has to miss school and her dance classes.

Aubrielle was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on September 21, 2020.  The first nine months of her treatment were very difficult but she is doing better and maintains a cheerful, positive attitude. Her parents are grateful that she’s at our Children’s Miracle Network hospital.
