ELGA Credit Union Raises More Than Just Purses for Hurley Kids

The ELGA Credit Union Foundation for IMPACT recently hosted a fun, ladies night out for the community during their first annual “Raise the Purse” event. During the event, attendees enjoyed dinner, drinks, and an auction of name brand purses.

After the event concluded, ELGA presented a $35,879 check to Children’s Miracle Network Hospital programs at Hurley Children’s Hospital! CO-OP Financial Services was also generous enough to grant an additional $10,000 miracle match for Hurley kids making the grand total raised: $45,879.

“We are so appreciative of all that ELGA Credit Union has done for Hurley Children’s Hospital over the years,” said Linda Tracy-Stephens, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Director. “This financial support means a lot to the young patients at Hurley Children’s Hospital, and to the various units who benefit from community support including the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the Pediatric Emergency Department, and the Oncology/Sickle Cell clinic.” Brooklyn Kennings, Assistant Director for CMN Programs added, “The Raise the Purse event was a fun, high-energy event. We are grateful to ELGA for their ongoing support and for helping us fulfill our mission: “We save children’s lives, and we give families hope.”

Thank you again to all who attended this year’s event and who donated to support the pediatric patients and families at Hurley Children’s Hospital. We are SO fortunate to have such an incredible Credit Unions for Kids partner in ELGA and CO-OP Financial Services, and we can’t wait for year two!
