ICYMI: Children’s Hospitals Week 2024
Can you believe Children’s Hospitals Week was already over a month ago? It’s hard to imagine that our week-long celebration has already come and gone, what an incredible time we had! From April 8-12th, 2024 we celebrated the miracles that happen everyday here at Hurley Children’s Hospital and the families, staff members and community partners that make it all possible.
Right before #ChildrensHospitalsWeek kicked off, Hurley Foundation hosted the very first CMN Great Minds Summit, bringing together some of the representatives from CMN Corporate Partners and Miracle Families together to learn more about Hurley Children’s Hospital and all of the amazing programs and equipment that their donations go towards. Our incredible partners did not show up empty handed! On this day, we collected 51 stuffed animals, 100 pinwheels, 28 puzzles, 34 packs of crayons, 131 cards, and 335 Play-Doh containers and several bags of toys and games for our youngest patients.
During the heart of our campaign, several of our area Credit Unions For Kids partners raised over $6,000 through creative fundraisers in their branches and throughout the community. Special thanks to Security Credit Union, ELGA Credit Union, Dort Financial Credit Union, Team One Credit Union and Financial Plus Credit Union for their participation.
We also received several donations through our Child & Family Life team’s Amazon Wish Lists. More than $600 worth of toys, snacks and toiletries for our patients and their families arrived at Hurley Children’s Hospital in the month of April.
While we had tons of fun celebrating externally, we were also able to treat pediatric staff members here at Hurley Children’s Hospital with care packages in their breakrooms containing sweet treats from our friends at Speedway / 7-Eleven.
