Children’s Hospitals Week

While the country waits, quarantines, tries to avoid catching COVID-19 – miracle families have to go out, go to doctor’s appointments, get treatments and pray they don’t get sick. It’s a tough time for them and for the team at Hurley Children’s Hospital. This year we celebrate 30 years with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Through CMN, you support our mission to provide care to every child, regardless of their ability to pay. This year, the need is great. We have put off fundraisers, but kids can’t wait for a cure.

We have a team of miracle families, influencers and media partners making time to shine a light on #ChildrensHospitalsWeek. They are sporting yellow band-aids with names of miracle children who inspire them. They are reminding everyone that Hurley is the only CMN hospital in our region. When kids get hurt in any of the 14 counties we serve, they are brought to Hurley. We have the highest level Pediatric Trauma Center, Only Level III NICU, the region’s only Children’s Emergency Room and Pediatric ICU among other top services. It’s times like these that we all can be thankful Hurley is here for our kids. Please donate today to the Children’s Hospitals COVID-19 Impact Fund @ bit.ly/HurleyCHW

Little Miss Flint Mari Copeny posted: Today kicks off #ChildrensHospitalsWeek and i’m proud to support @HurleyMedical today and every day. You see I started my life out 2 months premature at Hurley and spent 2 weeks in the NICU. This week I will share my story and more.

Miss Michigan posted: When she was born, Miracle was given a 2% chance of survival. Thanks to her fighting spirit and the incredible medical care provided at @hurleymedicacenter, she is now a healthy 6 year-old girl! To help kids just like Miracle, donate at the link in my bio! Together, we can change kids’ health and change the future.

CARS 108 has switched over to our yellow bandage in support and is interviewing our team about the importance of continuing to support our CMN hospital.

Credit Unions are stepping up! Dort Financial posted: We’re helping spread a little goodness this week by supporting Hurley Childrens Hospital. During this challenging time, we can stay home and practice social distancing to save the lives of the most vulnerable kids. Hurley asks you to consider for whom you are staying home, and write their name on the enclosed band aid. Show the community how you support the kids at Hurley Children’s Hospital by posting photos of you at home wearing your yellow CHW band aids during the week of April 6th.  #ChildrensHospitalsWeek

Security Credit Union posted: This week, Security Credit Union will be participating with Hurley Hospital in #ChildrensHospitalsWeek which is all about helping kids and hospitals have the funds they need to care for more than 10 million children a year. During this difficult time, it’s important to practice social distancing to save the lives of some of the most vulnerable children. We’ve asked some of our employees working from home to write the name of the person(s) for whom they are staying home for, practicing #SocialDistancing. Look for a photo each day this week of someone from our team with their band aid. bit.ly/HurleyCHW

Countless miracle families are showing support by using facebook frames and posting photos of their bandages. Carsen’s grandma Cheryl Sclater posted this: During Children’s Hospital Week (April 6-12) I am staying home to help save the lives of the most vulnerable kids …like Carsen once was. The staff at Hurley Children’s Hospital is still there taking care of babies in the NICU, giving children chemo treatments and more. They save lives and give families hope! ? #ChildrensHospitalWeek

Carsen himself is giving back by sharing a message of hope and bravery for all of us. We’re in this together.
