I’m Down With Ashton

Within minutes of his visit to Hurley Children’s Hospital, people were tickling his feet and playing catch with him. Ashton Carroll’s personality just draws you in. It’s no wonder the entire city of Byron is Down With Ashton!

The two year old is living with Down Syndrome – and Leukemia. but none of that stops him. Ashton inspired the Byron High School Lady Eagles Softball team to rally behind him. They conducted hitting fundraisers throughout their season to raise money for his foundation called “I’m Down With Ashton.”

Then, Byron Mothers of Preschoolers held a taco bar to raise money too.

Members of the Byron community have pitched in to clean the Carroll house, to cut the grass and help with their dogs.

Ashton’s dad, Derek says, “The saving grace was Hurley and our family and friends, it was great, everybody backed us, everyone was there for us when we needed them.”

Now the Carroll family is here for CMN and Hurley Children’s Hospital.

They visited with their donors, presenting the hospital with two checks. The gifts were amazing!

But the real gift has to be the news Ashton got earlier this year. His cancer is in remission! He is so adorable, people just break into applause at the cute things he does.

It makes us all want to shout – “I’m Down With Ashton!”
